What Morpha uses
Morpha only works with information you choose to add or allow:
- Progress photos you take with the in-app camera, including the hands-free guided scan, or import from your photo library, along with the date and time of each check-in.
- Body stats attached to each check-in: weight, body fat percentage and lean mass, whether you type them in or they come from Apple Health.
- Goals and Season progress, such as your target weight, target body fat and timeline, plus the check-ins, points and rank you earn during a Season.
- App settings such as units, appearance, reminder day and time, and whether Face ID lock is on.
- Subscription status for Morpha MAX, which Apple confirms to the app. We never see your payment details.
Morpha does not ask for your name, email address, phone number or location, and you don't create an account to use it.
Apple Health
If you allow it, Morpha reads the following from Apple Health so each check-in carries your stats:
- Body mass (weight)
- Body fat percentage
- Lean body mass
Morpha does not write any data to Apple Health. Information from Health is used only to show your stats and trends inside the app. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, never shared with third parties and never stored on our servers or in iCloud by Morpha.
Where your data is stored
Your photos, stats, goals and settings are stored in Morpha's private storage on your iPhone. Morpha does not upload them to any server, and we have no copy of them.
Because your data lives on your device, it may be included in your iPhone's own backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup), depending on how you've set those up. Those backups are controlled by you and Apple, not by Morpha.
Uninstalling Morpha removes its data from your iPhone. If you want a copy first, use Export my photos & data in Settings.
How your information is used
Everything Morpha does with your data happens on your device, and only to provide the app's features:
- Showing your timeline, Then vs now comparisons and Morph Reel
- Calculating trends, weekly insights, goal progress, streaks and milestones
- Guiding your hands-free scan with on-screen and spoken prompts
- Tracking your Season progress, points and rank
- Showing progress-based encouragement in Morpha's Home Screen widgets
- Sending the weekly check-in reminder you set
- Unlocking Morpha MAX features when you're subscribed
Trends and insights are estimates from your own photos and data. They are not measurements, and Morpha is not a medical device.
Sharing
We don't sell, rent or share your personal information. Morpha contains no advertising and no third-party tracking.
Your data only leaves your device when you choose to send it, for example when you export your data, share a Morph Reel or photo, or email us for support. In those cases it goes to the place you picked, under that service's own privacy terms.
We may disclose information if required by law, but since we don't hold your photos or stats, there is generally nothing for us to disclose.
Device permissions
Camera and photo library
Used only to take or import progress photos. Morpha never accesses your library without your selection.
During the guided scan, the live camera preview is processed only on your iPhone to help you line up and capture your front and back photos automatically. The preview isn't recorded or sent anywhere, and only the photos you keep are saved.
Widgets
Morpha's Home Screen widgets show encouragement based on your progress. Widget content is generated on your iPhone and can be seen by anyone who can see your Home Screen, so remove the widget if you'd rather keep it private.
Face ID
When Face ID lock is on, iOS checks your face and simply tells Morpha whether it matched. Morpha never receives or stores biometric data. While the lock is on, a privacy cover hides your photos in the app switcher.
Notifications
Used only for the weekly check-in reminder. Reminder previews never include your photos or stats.
You can turn any permission off in your iPhone's Settings app under Morpha.
Subscriptions and payments
Morpha MAX is sold through the App Store. Apple processes your payment and manages your subscription under its own privacy policy. Morpha only receives confirmation of whether your subscription is active. We never receive your name, Apple ID or payment information.
Your choices
- Export: Settings → Export my photos & data creates a zip of your photos and stats.
- Delete: Settings → Delete all photos permanently removes them from Morpha. You can also delete a single check-in from its detail screen.
- Health access: turn individual data types on or off in the Health app at any time.
- Reminders: turn the weekly reminder off in Morpha's Settings.
- Remove everything: deleting the app removes all of its data from your iPhone.
Retention
Your data stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall Morpha. If you email us, we keep that conversation only as long as needed to help you, then delete it.
Children
Morpha is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR or CCPA give you rights to access, correct, delete or move your personal data. Because Morpha keeps your data on your device, you can exercise most of these directly in the app using export and delete. For anything else, including information about a support email you sent, contact us and we'll respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Morpha handles your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
